What is this training about?
In Match Made in HVAC: Choosing the Right Heat Pump for Your Building, you will learn to understand the first steps in transitioning from fossil-fueled heating and cooling systems to heat pumps.
Discover why heat pumps are the future of building HVAC and gain the practical knowledge you need to lead an energy upgrade with confidence.
The success of a heat pump installation depends heavily on a few early decisions made at the start of the project. Conversely, early mistakes can set projects on a path toward problems. In this training, you’ll learn how to choose the right system, avoid common pitfalls, and develop a strategic plan that is tailored to your existing building’s unique needs.
What will you learn?
By the end of this training, you will be able to:
- Understand how heat pumps contribute to energy and carbon savings and the benefits of transitioning to them. Describe the pros and cons of different heat pump systems and how they relate to the unique needs and characteristics of your building.
- Identify relevant building factors and criteria that influence good heat pump decision-making.
- Develop a plan to address building-specific factors such as size, use, envelope, electrical system, metering and need for backup heat.
