On April 16, explore part of the largest steam system in the country, Con Edison’s East River Generating Station! Discover the steam plant’s key components and gain insight into the processes that power New York’s steam system. Attendees will gain insight into the plant’s operations, how district steam is produced, and its role in providing heat to the city.

This tour is the second half of a series on decarbonizing Con Edison’s district steam system, following an Urban Green Live interview with Con Edison President Matt Ketschke on March 19. Register for Urban Green Live here

Attendees should use the facility entrance on the northeast side of East 14th Street and Avenue C, through the blue gates. All attendees must present a valid U.S. or Canadian government-issued ID at the security booth during check-in. Please register for the event using a name that matches your ID. Attendees must wear closed-toe shoes, long-sleeve shirts, and long pants made of natural fibers. Hard hats, eye protection, and hearing protection will be provided.
