In 2024, at the request of the NYC Department of Buildings, we convened experts to discuss ways to better align commercial landlord and tenant energy management to meet LL97 requirements.
At the request of the NYC Department of City Planning, we convened over 60 experts to review proposals in the City of Yes for Carbon Neutrality and remove barriers to building decarbonization.
In 2019, we convened a 40-member advisory committee of industry leaders that laid the groundwork for our Going Electric report, which identified nine crucial steps to jumpstart electrification in NYC’s large multifamily buildings.
In May 2019, Urban Green launched the Global Climate Efficiency Trading Initiative, a collaboration that met over nine months to develop key questions and considerations for a carbon trading program for buildings.
First convened by Urban Green in November 2017, the Partnership set out to develop recommendations for New York City on the design of a policy to reduce building energy use. This work was instrumental in the passage of Local Law 97 in 2019.
Convened at the request of Mayor Bloomberg in July 2008, the Task Force was charged with recommending green changes to the laws and regulations affecting buildings in New York. Over 50 of its recommendations have become law, including phasing out dirty fuel oils.
